Your first form
Let’s build it together.
Follow five small steps to make, test, and share your first Kaptly form. No special words. No guessing. You can tick off each step as you go.
Follow the path
One job at a time
Do what each card says, then tick it off. Kaptly saves your work while you build.
Step 1 of 5
Start a new form
A form is simply a page that asks questions and keeps the answers for you.
Do this
Open your Kaptly dashboard. This is the home screen where all your forms live.
Press the bright “+ Create form” button in the top-right corner.
Choose a template if one fits your job, or start with an empty form. Either choice can be changed later.
Step 2 of 5
Give it a name and ask something
The builder has three easy parts: your list of blocks, what people will see, and the settings for the selected block.
Do this
Click “Untitled form” and type a clear name, such as “Birthday party reply”.
Press “+ Add Block”, then choose a question type. “Short text” is perfect for asking someone’s name.
Write your question. Keep it short: “What is your name?” is better than a long sentence.
Add only the questions you truly need. A short form is easier to finish.
Step 3 of 5
Choose how your form looks
A good design helps people read. You only need a clear color, an easy-to-read font, and a little breathing room.
Do this
Open “Design” in the bar above your form.
Pick a color that is easy to see against the background. Kaptly shows the result in the preview.
Add your logo or choose a font if you want. These are optional — your form already works without them.
Open the welcome screen and write one friendly line that tells people what the form is for.
Step 4 of 5
Try it before everyone else
Testing means pretending to be a visitor. It lets you catch a missing question or a confusing word before you share the form.
Do this
Open “Preview” and answer every question yourself.
Check that the buttons work and that the thank-you screen appears at the end.
Go back and fix anything that felt confusing.
Press “Publish” in the top-right corner. Your private draft now has a public link.
